Spring break is over…
Well, that’s it, Spring break is over and we are back to preschool for the final 5 (ish) weeks (Where has this school year gone!?)
I think I speak for everyone when I say that the last few months have flown by! There has been so much fun going on at Glenbrook that it’s kept us going through the cooler months. In addition to our daily routines, the year, so far, has been packed with excitement.
February saw the school celebrate Valentine’s Day with classroom parties, in which parents and siblings were invited to attend.
The parties were all a huge success – what child doesn’t love cookies, frosting and copious amounts of red sprinkles!?
Next, our Fantastic Frogs were very lucky to have a special visit from Otto the Auto, who came to Glenbrook to highlight the importance of road safety and awareness. The children had a great morning thanks to Officer Guiday!
March was a busy month, kicking off with our annual International Pot luck; offerings ranged from American to Italian cuisine, Korean to British; there was no shortage of tasty treats to sample. This fun lunchtime event was an amazing success once again, thanks to all who participated.
March also saw us host Squeals on Wheels – an educational and award-winning miniature animal petting zoo (which included a hungry llama, pony, bunnies, ducks, chickens, a goat, an adorable teacup pig and tortoise!)
As you can see from the photos, Squeals on Wheels was a massive hit with all the children (and parents!)
I’m sure everyone agrees that the petting zoo has been a highlight of our school year!
Just before Spring break, Glenbrook celebrated it’s 75th Anniversary with it’s annual Silent Auction. This year’s event was an enormous success with the school raising almost $7000! A huge thank you goes to Stacie and her fundraising committee who worked so hard to make this event so special.
Before the end of the school year, we have lots more fun planned! Following on from the Fantastic Frogs pajama day, the Curious Cats and Super Stars have their turn this Wednesday (26th)! Look out out for further details regarding Hootenany, Glenbrook Summer Camp, Field trips and school picnics.
A reminder from the Membership Committee – enrollment contracts for returning families for the 2017-2018 school year are now due.
For those who are yet to decide, there are limited openings in the 2-Day and 5-Day classes, though still space in both of the 3-year-old classes. Please spread the word!
Glenbrook had a table at April’s Mommy & Me at Congressional Plaza – keep a look out for our next date at this event, it was great to see Glenbrook pupils attending. Feel free to drop by and say hi!
Finally, thank you to all the families for their continued hard work and support, it is due to your efforts that Glenbrook continues to be the success that it is – Communications Committee.
