The best of our school year so far!
I really don’t know where the last few weeks of 2017 have gone! Our school year at Glenbrook is whizzing by and with that in mind, now is a perfect time to look back at the many highlights of our year, so far…
September saw old and new students (re)adjust to their respective new classes, teachers and generally get used to daily life at Glenbrook.
October was a busy month with our annual school photos; the start of Lunch Bunch – our Tuesday and Thursday lunchtime programme; a Fantastic Frog’s field trip to Locust Grove Nature Center; the start of weekly music lessons with Ms. Michelle, pumpkin patches and Halloween parties!
November saw the introduction of Stay and Play – a lunchtime extended play held every other Wednesday. This programme is a win-win for everyone – a rare treat of lunch in peace is always welcome in our house and my children love the extra hours to play with their friends.
Before we knew it, December was upon us and holiday season was in full swing!
Once again, this year’s annual Cookie Exchange was a huge hit! Thank you to all the wonderful bakers and sweet-treat providers who made this event so successful.
Our excellent Fundraising Committee have hosted several events, including fundraisers at Paladar, Chuck E. Cheese and a ‘Parent’s Night Out/Movie Night’ – in which Glenbrook students were treated to a Friday evening at school, watching a movie and playing with all their favourite teachers (whilst in their PJ’s!) Thank you to those of you who particapated in these events and to the teachers and Stacie for their efforts.
Finally, a HUGE thank you to all those who worked so hard at the January Clean Up; whether it was cleaning in the classrooms, take-home projects or caring for groups of children. Parent involvement is paramount to the smooth running and success of Glenbrook, so THANK YOU!
On behalf of the Communications Committee, we look forward to more exciting events in 2017!
